Annette is a proven, effective leader. As an attorney, I have worked on behalf of and appeared before many County Boards of Education throughout the State of California — I can say without reservation that Annette is one of the BEST. I wholeheartedly endorse her candidacy and hope that you will too!

In the many years I’ve known Annette, she has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of our students, to increase the collaboration between schools and families, and to ensure everyone has a voice in the education of young people. She is an asset that we all need.

I’ve known Annette for more than a decade. She’s a measured, thoughtful and competent decision maker, and intimately understands the many complexities of public education. Annette makes the County Board better. I support her without reservation.

Annette Lewis exhibited great leadership during 2021, when action by CCCBOE was needed to guide the vacated Oakley Union Elementary School District Board of Trustees in a process to secure five new trustees. Under significant pressure and scrutiny, Ms. Lewis (as CCCBOE President) handled the unprecedented situation with professionalism and a commitment to transparency, prioritizing the needs and best interests of the students in Oakley. Her experience and integrity is proven.

Annette has provided a high quality of leadership as a Board member and as Board President. As a retired education leader and former Board member, I feel strongly that public education governance needs elected officials who have experience with and a sound understanding of the entire education system. Annette is a tremendous asset to the County Board of Education and her community. Education should not be a playground for aspiring politicians who do not have a demonstrated focus on public education. It’s too important.
